The Armed Forces Commissioner, Polly Miller-Perkins will be visiting Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth as part of an independent investigation into 10 military training sites in England.
This follows allegations of rape and sexual assault at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate which trains under 18’s.
The Commissioner has the power to visit military sites unannounced and she can produce reports which would be sent to the Defence Secretary, made public and can be discussed in Parliament.
The Commissioner has also launched a ‘Call for Evidence’ on the AF Commissioner website and says she wants to hear from current and former recruits, staff or family members supporting Service personnel through Phase 1 training over the last five years.
There is no suggestion at this stage of any wrongdoing at BRNC.
