Harbour House is inviting the community to its most festive day of the year, with a full afternoon of free, family-friendly activities on Sat 6 Dec, 12–3pm. Everyone is welcome to join in, with no booking required, to explore art, creativity, and festive cheer across the Harbour House building.
Christmas Card Printing Workshop
Visitors can drop in at the Ground Floor Gallery to create and print their own Christmas cards with returning artist Llyr Davies. Using a watercolour monotype technique, participants can explore a simple and engaging printmaking process similar to painting. The workshop is informal and suitable for beginners and experienced creatives alike, and participants can work at their own pace.
Llyr is a familiar face at Harbour House, having exhibited earlier this year and led printmaking workshops for the closing event of the Community Programme exhibition The Bird and the Rhino. (Please note: under 12s should be accompanied by an adult.)

Festive Family Portraits
At the Quay Lane Ground Floor Studio, families can enjoy free festive portraits with professional photographer Dom Moore and photographers from Activities 115, who took part in Harbour House photography workshops earlier this year. The project included sessions in digital portrait photography, film, and outdoor photography, supported by Assistant Producer Jodie Saunders.
Participants are encouraged to wear Christmas jumpers or choose from a collection of festive props. Family pets are also welcome! Portraits will be emailed to participants after the event, providing a perfect seasonal keepsake.
Exhibition
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see Ashanti Hare: The Fullness Between Shadows, a solo exhibition by Plymouth-based artist Ashanti Hare, whose work is deeply connected to their heritage as a descendant of the Windrush Generation. Combining sculpture, movement, and performance, Hare explores memory, ancestry, and the ways people, place, and spirit are connected.
