All the pupils and staff gathered to say goodbye to Gail Weedon last Thursday, July 22.

The children also gathered in the huge “30” on the school field as a drone took a photo.

Mrs Weedon joined Stoke Fleming in 1991, first as a mealtime assistant, then as teaching assistant.

Head teacher Paul Girardot said: “Throughout her long career Mrs Weedon’s embraced all aspects of school life, witnessing many changes.

“For 30 years she’s remained committed, dedicated and a great sport in every sense of the word and we wish her every success for her retirement.

“Over the years Mrs Weedon has not only supported the children and families of the school to boost their self-esteem and gain confidence in their abilities to succeed, but she has also jumped off Bideford Bridge at Skern Lodge and been the rear end of a camel!

“Enjoy your well-earned rest Mrs Weedon.”
