Dartmouth Lower Ferry has introduced a new ticketing system designed to improve customer experience.
The new platform, which is now live, is said to offer improved account management, enhanced security and a simpler online ticket purchasing process for both regular and occasional ferry users.
Passengers without an online account will still be able to pay for their journey on board the ferry, while customers using existing Ferry Saver cards can continue to use them with the new system.
According to the ferry operator, the upgraded platform provides a more intuitive online experience, stronger security for customer accounts and payment information, faster ticket purchases and administration, and the flexibility to support future digital improvements.
As part of the transition, customers with online accounts will need to reset their passwords before logging in for the first time.
Some account holders may also need to update or re-register their details if their existing information does not contain all the information required by the new system.
The operator is also urging customers with travel cards showing a negative balance to top them up as soon as possible.
Cards that remain in debit may become invalid, meaning customers could need to purchase a new £2 travel card and add credit before travelling.
Changes are also being made to Fleet Accounts. Large corporate customers and high-usage account holders will continue to receive monthly invoices with few changes to the way their accounts operate.
Other Fleet Account customers will be invited to create a new online account, allowing them to top up balances, manage linked travel cards, receive low-balance email alerts, view account activity and access a range of self-service features.
The ferry operator is encouraging all customers to complete any required updates before their next journey to avoid delays and ensure uninterrupted access to online account services.
