Kevin Pyne, of Lake Street, Dartmouth, writes:
I went to see the volunteer band concert last Friday in the Casper John Hall up on the hill at Britannia Royal Naval College it was truly fantastic.
Afterwards I got to thinking that I have been coming and going from the naval college for 55 years
Like most local people of my generation, I learnt to swim in its pool, learnt judo there; trained for rugby; and learnt to shoot with the local ATC.
I even flew in helicopters from the now defunct heliport where the park and ride is now; borrowed whalers to row at regatta; and attended all manner of events.
The town would be at a great loss without it, for sure.
