A South Hams man has appeared in court accused of blocking a major road during the Extinction Rebellion (XR) demonstrations in Bristol.

Climate change protesters allegedly glued themselves to the floor to disrupt traffic near Cabot Circus in the city centre on Wednesday, July 17.

Mike Jones, of Harberton, near Totnes, denied wilfully obstructing a highway at Bristol Magistrates Court on Friday, July 19.

The 58-year-old is due to stand trial on Wednesday, September 11.
