A suspected burglar was caught “red-handed” climbing through the window of a South Hams house, police say.

Officers were called to Ebrington Street in Kingsbridge following reports of a male “acting suspiciously” in the early hours of Monday, October 7.

They searched the area and allegedly caught a suspect “climbing out of a window having just burgled a house”.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said a 16-year-old local boy had been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He has since been released on police bail until November 1, 2019.
