Once again Dartmouth Bowling Club hosted this year's Regatta Bowls Drive on Friday, attracting 56 players from Dartmouth, Torbay, Kingsbridge and surrounding areas. This round-robin match, played over a full day of competition, was opened by the mayor of Dartmouth, Cllr Rob Lyon and regatta chairman Jonathan Hawkins. After 21 games, played as two-wood rinks, six players topped the leader board, each having won all their games. The eventual winners, using a count back on shot difference were, in first place, Arthur Wotton from Stoke Fleming BC; second Val Ruddle of Dartmouth BC and in third place was Reg Sturch of Marldon BC. Arthur was awarded the Regatta Perpetual Trophy and a commemorative Regatta Winners Mug.
