Looking for an easy day out or a relaxed weekend by the sea? This July, Exmouth offers the perfect reason to make the trip, as the much-loved free arts event, Exmouth Festival, returns from 9–12 July 2026, bringing music, creativity and feel-good energy to one of Devon’s liveliest seaside towns.

This year’s theme, “Wild Things,” celebrates Exmouth’s natural surroundings while reflecting the festival’s ethos of connection – to nature, creativity and each other.

Exmouth Festival has always had real heart, and that’s what sets it apart. This isn’t a fenced-off, ticket-heavy event – it’s woven right through the town. Look out for the soulful warmth of Lady Nade, the genre-blending energy of Honeyfeet, and local favourites Sound of the Sirens. Alongside the bigger acts, there are more reflective moments of poetry and storytelling that invite you to slow down and listen.

One of the real pleasures of Exmouth Festival is its informality. There’s no need to rush between headline acts; it’s all about wandering and discovering what you find – whether that’s storytelling in the square, a silent disco in the park, or sea shanties drifting across the marina.

Manor Gardens remains the social hub – ideal for families or anyone wanting to settle somewhere lively. Expect circus skills, creative workshops and non-stop music, alongside street food and space to relax.

The Imperial Hotel Gardens offers a calmer programme of wellbeing sessions, theatre and dance performances and nature-inspired activities.

The Strand is the vibrant town square, hosting choirs, bands, Morris dancing and a bustling market, surrounded by cafés and street food stalls – perfect for soaking up the atmosphere.
