In January 2025, RockSHORE Carpentry & Framing Ltd, an Ivybridge-based building firm specialising in timber frame construction and modern methods of construction, took on a challenging project: transforming an old garage and outhouse into a fully functioning commercial veterinary practice.

For owners Cherish and Kendall Sibbing, two accomplished veterinarians, the project was about much more than creating a building. They had dreamed of establishing and owning their own veterinary practice next to their family home. Turning that dream into reality, however, would require careful planning, creative thinking and plenty of construction expertise.

From the outset, the project presented a number of challenges. The location and existing layout created logistical difficulties, while the proposed design had to balance the practical requirements of a busy veterinary practice with the constraints of building regulations.
