Jane Petherick, of Parkside, Ivybridge, writes:

In response to Tim Bonner’s letter about the hunting act, Chronicle, November 6, could he please remember that the ban on hunting became law after years of campaigning because the majority are opposed to torturing wildlife.

The democratic process took place after long delays and many hours of debate.

The Countryside Alliance did not like the result and has since sought various ways of repealing the act, showing a total disregard for public opinion and democracy itself.
