We have had unconfirmed reports that the sewage pumping station at Torcross has failed.
The message reads: "Stokenham, Slapton and outlying villages please do not flush your loos. It will end up in the ley and our houses, we are already struggling with sewage leakage here!
"Please help us by not flushing and please save the ley and its abundant freshwater life from contamination."
South West Water have said that "We aren't aware of any failed pumping station and haven't had any reports on the issue."
