Corinne Joy, president of the Rotary Club of Kingsbridge, writes:

May I through your pages thank the many organisations and individuals that helped Kingsbridge to celebrate Christmas on Saturday, December 7. While I would like to name them all, the list would take up too many 'column-inches'!

I hope we achieved a number of our aims including bringing people into the town, increasing trade and most importantly providing the opportunity for a fun day.

Father Christmas really enjoyed the welcome he was given and only regrets that he didn't have a new light sabre in his sack for Darth Vader! If I am permitted to mention one name it should be Paul Smith, Father Christmas' alter ego.

Having significantly increased our control and input over the last 2 years, we believe that before we start on the planning for next year we should not only review this year's experience, but consult with the town on how to take next year forward. A number of dates and options are currently under discussion within the rotary club.
