After the Beast from the East disrupted the comedy festival during March, a renowned comedian is hoping the sun continues to shine this weekend as he once again attempts to travel to South Hams with his new show.

Richard Herring is bringing his new show ‘Oh Frig, I’m 50’ to the Flavel at 8pm on Sunday, April 22. In the show, Richard examines how his life has changed, from an irresponsible, single kidult, fighting his way through a mid-life crisis, to a married father who is half way to a letter from the Queen.

Herring, or the Podfather as he is known to readers of The Guardian, is a stand-up comedian, comedy writer, podcaster and diarist whose early work included the comedy double act Lee and Herring.

He has continued to shine in the world of comedy, appearing for 11 consecutive years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and starring in Radio 4’s ‘Relativity’.

A spokesman from The Flavel said: “If you want your funny bone tickled then you should come to see this outstanding comedian, recognised by the British Theatre guide as ‘one of the leading hidden masters of modern British comedy’. We do hope the weather will be kinder this time.”
