In this week’s Dartmouth Chronicle we’re running a story about a new figure that shows the number of South Hams families needing the services of food banks has doubled in the past year.
In 2010 there were only 56 food banks in the country - but now there is one in almost every community - 445 nationally in 2017 - and we have at least four in the South Hams, in Kingsbridge, Totnes, Ivybridge and Dartmouth.
Our picture story focusses on the recent Remembrance commemorations marking 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Inside we have also reported on a couple’s struggles with universal credit.
As usual there will be the ’What’s On’, around the clubs, and ’Village Voices’ sections inside.
If you can’t get to the shops, or you have moved out of the area, you can get all South Hams Newspapers online here: http://www.southhams-today.co.uk/subscribe.cfm.
