I am totally committed to getting the new ground being used as a car park back under our control. It is land held in common and owned by the residents of this town.

It might well need to be a car-parking space until we all learn to fly and bomb around on man drones or some such.

Rumour has it that South Hams District Council is thinking of selling out and handing car parking to one of the big car-parking firms and we will lose land that is ours and has been for centuries.

Yesterday, in the confusion that is the Slapton junction since the great storm, I stopped in the car park to pay my respects at the American war monument and I was pounced on by a traffic officer, who was the rudest and most offensive person I have met in 50 years – and I have met plenty!

It has only made me even more resolved to get rid of these martinets in black; and SHDC; and yes, eventually even the county totally.

Viva Dartmouth Town Council! Now let’s have everything we own back.
