For the fifth year running Slimming World members in Totnes & Kingsbridge have raised a fantastic amount for Rowcroft Hospice by donating cash to see their Consultant dress up for their Christmas groups in a ridiculous costume chosen by them.
In previous years Consultant, Nat Bamforth, has run group dressed as a Christmas Pudding, Christmas Cracker, Christmas Tree and a Snowman. This year’s costume, voted for by the members, was a donkey.
Nat’s friends, family and fellow Consultants from across the country have also contributed bringing the total raised for Rowcroft to an incredible £1350.
Nat said: “Rowcroft nurses cared for my parents, making the most terrible times of our lives a little easier to bear and many of my members have experienced the same care that my family did – so we like to give something back when we can. We have a collection tin all year round in group but it’s become a kind of tradition now that we raise some extra at Christmas. It’s been such a tough couple of years for so many people that I really wasn’t expecting to raise quite so much this year, but everyone has been so generous and every donation will make a difference!”
