DARTMOUTH RFC face the unusual prospect of a league and cup game rolled into one tomorrow.

The Riversiders were due to travel to Plymouth-based Old Technicians for a Devon Two league game tomorrow.

And a week tomorrow they were set to play a Devon Junior Cup tie at the same venue. But now both matches will be rolled into one in a true winner-takes-all shootout.

Dartmouth spokesman Jeff Hunt said: 'Their coach phoned our coach Steve Atkins to see if he would like to do both games on the same day as one match, to which Dartmouth agreed.

'It saves us travelling twice.'

When asked whether the novel arrangement was within the rules, Hunt said: 'I believe it's up to both clubs. It's winner-takes-all.'
