MRS M SKIPP, of Victoria Road, Dartmouth, writes: After reading the letter by Jane and Michael Deller of Dorset, Chronicle, May 8, I wonder if it's the same bus driver who left me in the cafe doorway in Kingsbridge after I asked if I could quickly use the cafe's toilet. I asked if I had time, and he said: 'A few minutes.' I was no longer than four minutes, to which the cafe assistant agreed. I had already travelled two hours from Cornwall. We set off early enough, but works and traffic meant I arrived to find the bus and no time to go to the toilet. I came to the cafe door to see the bus on its way to the main road. I could not run to catch it as I am 90 years old and have a stick. The assistant said we could get a taxi to catch him up, as my case was on the bus. No taxis were there until five minutes later. He came straight over and we tried to catch the bus, only being able to manage it at Slapton. It cost the last £10 in my purse and had it been more I don't know what I would have done. The taxi driver asked the bus driver if he knew he had left me and he didn't answer. I was too upset to say anything. When I got off I said that it had taken my last £10 and he never even said sorry, just: 'I left two minutes late anyway', which wasn't true as it was exactly 1pm. I have travelled on that route many times and found the drivers polite, helpful and pleasant. I admire their driving skills, they get top marks. But it's people with bad attitudes who damage our town's reputation and economy. Thank God they are the exception and not the majority.
