St Petrox Trust Lands has again come to rescue the Dartmouth Outdoor Pool with a grant of £5,000 to cover down season expenses to see it through the winter.

Over the years the Trust has been extremely benevolent to the Pool providing grants for improved facilities and exceptional running costs.

Trust Chairman, Kate Ryder, said: “St Petrox Trust Lands is delighted to be able to help the outdoor pool carry on offering an amazing local facility for all ages to use.

“Swimming is one of the only sports that all generations can participate in.

“Having such a great outdoor pool in such an accessible location enables local people to keep fit and it plays a vital role in everyone’s health and wellbeing. All trustees fully support this much-loved local community outdoor swimming pool and what better way than providing for its future.”

Pool Chairman, David Bond, said: “On behalf of the staff, volunteers, and the entire community at Dartmouth Outdoor Swimming Pool I wish to give St Petrox Trust Lands a huge thank you for the donation of £5000.

“This donation will help us to complete our winter maintenance and such things as monthly insurance, chemicals and other utilities to keep the pool healthy, clean, and safe.

“The continual generous backing contributes to the health, wellbeing, and recreation of the community from teaching the young to swim and the older to stay fit in a beautiful outdoor environment.”

The swimming pool is a 25 metre by 8.5 metre outdoor pool and is heated to 28 degrees Celsius.

It is staffed by fully qualified lifeguards and there are changing facilities including for babies.

The have a small shop selling a range of hot and cold drinks, sweets, snacks and small range of swimming accessories.

The pool is currently closed but will reopen in May 2027.
