The Dartmouth Police Neighbourhood Team are looking back on a busy couple of months

The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta largely went very well.

They had some minor anti-social behaviour that was dealt with at the time or was picked up since.

Some of the more persistent disqualified drivers continue to drive.

Police are continuing to seize their vehicles, including the motorbike pictured.

PC Willetts and PC Kelly recently arrested a man on suspicion of drug driving, having failed the roadside drug test, and possession of Class A drugs.

This follows on from some great teamwork between Dartmouth and their Totnes colleagues, which led to the arrest of two individuals for drug driving, no insurance, and possession of Class A drugs.

Subsequent searches also led to a quantity of Class A and B drugs being seized, along with a large amount of cash.

Police say there has been a slight increase in shoplifting within the town; suspects have been arrested and charged for several offences, and outstanding suspects have been identified and can expect a visit soon.

A spokesperson said: “We stand with our friends in the retail industry and have no problem at all in arresting and charging those that think they can simply help themselves. “

Recent drunken behaviour, which resulted in a vehicle being damaged and fighting in the street, ended up with the two men involved being arrested and charged.

Police helped with several medical issues until their colleagues from the ambulance service arrived to take over.

The spokesperson added: “We still have a lack of information coming into the police.

“We can’t deal with issues if we are not aware of them.

“Just because you wrote about it on Facebook doesn’t mean your local neighbourhood team know about it.”
