I am writing to express my concern about the total disregard to the local residents in Victoria Road over the new development site at Guttery Reservoir.

For several weeks we have seen the continual passage of tractors and trailers removing soil from the site of up to 50-plus loads a day. As a local resident I have witnessed today a total disregard for considerate construction due to debris from the demolition site all over the road where we live.

On reflection, the developer should have written to all in the vicinity to apologise in advance for the disruption and chaos before commencing with these works, explaining what was in place to keep the local roads free from debris etc.

I write on Friday evening when the contractors have long gone, and quite frankly the mess that has been left is beyond words. This mess left by the contractors will be with us all weekend.

I have just paid to have new tyres fitted to my car and I wonder how long before damage to my car and others’ will be caused by the rocks and debris left on the road.

There are numerous construction sites around the country with mention of considerate construction, so why not here in Victoria Road, Guttery Reservoir, Dartmouth?
