Kevin Pyne came into the offices of the Chronicle and asked if anyone else in Dartmouth had felt the earthquake last Saturday afternoon. The answer was “no” until, Tuesday, February 20, when Eric Luscombe asked the same question of the Chronicle.

He said: “Am I the only one to feel an earthquake? I was resting on the bed as I have a bad back, last Saturday afternoon. Around 2.30pm the whole bed shook. And, I’m not the only one that felt it. A lady who lives in Churchill House had a funny feeling around the same time and, apparently someone in New Abbot felt it too.”.

The British Geological Survey recorded a quake last Saturday of 4.6 magnitude at 2.31 pm centred at Cwmllynfell in Wales. There were reports that it was felt in Bristol and North Devon and now, in Dartmouth.
