Police have reported two teenage girls have been injured on their way home from Dartmouth Academy.

A police spokesman said earlier this evening: ’Emergency services are currently on scene at an RTC in Dartmouth on Townstal Road where two schoolgirls have been hit by a car. The air ambulance is en-route so the road has been closed to all traffic.

’Please seek an alternative route and bear with us during this incident. We will open the road as soon as possible.’

UPDATE: Police says emergency services were called to Townstal Road at 3.30pm after the two 15-year-old girls were in collision with a Ford Focus.One casualty has been airlifted to Bristol Children’s Hospital by air ambulance after sustaining a head injury and leg injury.The second girl sustained a pelvic and leg injury and is being taken to Derriford Hospital by ambulance.Townstal Road reopened at about 10.15pm.Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police via [email protected] or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 470 of 07/11/16.SECOND UPDATE: It has now been confirmed a 14-year-old boy also received a minor knee injury and he is recovering at home.
