Brent Island Trust will be helping the village get into the Christmas spirit when members hold their traditional Christmas stall and carol singing outside the Village Shop on Saturday December 4 . The event runs from 10am until noon and is the organizations main fundraising event of the year.

“It’s wonderful to be able to get back to meeting the village in person” said Trust Chair Graham Royle. “The Covid pandemic meant we had to cancel last year’s Christmas stall and two Easter Egg hunts, so we are looking forward to renewing our contacts with the community. We rely on the support of the village to continue caring for the Island.”

Look out for presents and cakes, try your luck on the tombola and join in singing some favorite Christmas melodies, accompanied by a group of talented musicians.

Offers of help are welcome, especially with carol singing and in providing cakes and tombola prizes.

These can be left in a special box in the Mare and Foal charity shop, or delivered on the morning of the event.

The trust cares for a three-acre area of meadow and woodland, surrounded by the River Avon and bought through a public appeal in 1994.
