Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Jason Wickenden from Dartmouth after emergency services spent the weekend searching for him.

Jason who is 44-years-old is described as a white male, around 5.6ft tall and of medium build with shoulder length light brown hair.

He was last seen at 9.15pm on Thursday, December 20, in Dartmouth, wearing a black and white Musto jacket with a yellow hood, a grey knitted turtle neck jumper and dark blue jeans.

The Dartmouth Coastguard was tasked out to search for Jason on Saturday, December 22. It conducted a large scale search from Dittisham to the mouth of the River Dart.

During the evening search, the Coastguard SAR helicopter, Dart RNLI, Torbay Police and Coastguard teams from Prawle to Torbay were involved in the mission.

Dartmouth Coastguard said: “After many combined rescue agencies searching from both sides of the river, the search has been suspended until tomorrow where daylight will vastly increase the effectiveness of our search techniques.”

Yesterday, Dartmouth Coastguard continued the search. The stretch of river from Dartmouth Castle to the Higher Ferry was again “extensively” searched with the help of the Prawle and Dart RNLI and a police helicopter.

On the other side of the River Dart, the Berry-Head and Torbay coastguard searched the marinas and shoreline up to Noss, supported by Dart RNLI.

After which, a police dive team arrived on scene to set up and search the area around the missing man’s boat and other areas of interest.

Anyone who has seen Jason or has knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact the police on 999 quoting log 620 of 22.12.18.
