The new rapid intervention vehicle will be “compact and fast” and thusly suitable for the narrow streets of Dartmouth, explained Matt. He said a launch event for the new vehicle will be planned for later this year.
However, the South Devon Group Commander said the station in Dartmouth is having a pressing issue with recruitment and said they are actively searching for new fire fighters.
Currently, the station has enough volunteers to function efficiently but Matt said they are still short of the ideal number of volunteers needed to keep the station running.
