An under-par Dartmouth side did well to restrict Kingsbridge to three goals in the first half in a local derby that gave them a tough welcome to their new division, Petroc 1.

Kingsbridge had the freedom of the midfield and used it to good effect, with relentless pressure on the Dartmouth back four, who performed well considering they had never played together.

A far more positive second half from Dartmouth only allowed two goals past and the strong rearguard action finally allowed some counter attacks, but lack of numbers going forward left few options on goal.

There were positive displays from Sam Webb, Lisa Hunt, Alix Vincent, Ellie Malley and Dartmouth's player of the match Coral Bradley.

Dartmouth will have plenty to work on at training and hopefully the return of some absentees will boost the squad on match days.
