After a well attended trial session, walking rugby is coming to Dartmouth.

A dozen potential players attended the first session of walking rugby organised by Dartmouth Rugby Club.

Four members of Topsham Rugby Club’s walking rugby team attended to give advice on the rules of this new game.

It was harder work than it appeared at first and the ladies trying out the new sport, used to playing netball, found staying behind the ball took some getting used to.

The ex-rugby players seemed to relish being able to throw a ball around again after a few years off. Everyone seemed to enjoy the experience.

Following on from this successful introduction, Dartmouth Rugby Club will be holding regular sessions on a Thursday evening at their playing field on Norton, behind the leisure centre, between 5.30 to 6.30pm. The first session is being held tonight, Thursday, October 11.

Anyone interested in playing can just turn up on the evening or for further information please contact Dave Bradley on 07908 260508 or at [email protected] or Yvonne Cottam on 01803 835251 or at [email protected].
