KEITH WILLIAMS, of Weeke Hill, Warfleet, Dartmouth, writes: As a newcomer to the music festival committee, I was asked to sort out parking and, in splendid naivety, I did not understand the scope of the job and left it too late to seek volunteer help. Faced with the unenviable task of doing it largely myself, I made a late 'cold call' to the Britannia Royal Naval College seeking help and the response was spectacularly good and beyond anything that I might have hoped for. I talked to two 'officers of the day', Lorna and Matt, who couldn't have been more helpful and proactive and the net outcome was that the college filled my rota. Other than thanking Lorna and Matt, the real reason for my letter is to recognise the outstanding job that the cadets did and offer our sincere thanks on behalf of the committee. They were all totally charming young men. They had a quiet authority, which was such an asset. They were a pleasure to work with and needless to say they looked the part. They are a great credit to the college, a great credit to their families and Dartmouth would be a much lesser place without the naval college. I so hope that its longevity is assured.
