The Met Office has issued a new yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in the South Hams.
It comes into force at 3am on Tuesday, July 30, and will affect parts of the country until 11.59pm.
The forecaster said there is a chance of flooding in places with travel disruption possible.
There is also a small chance of property damage from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
There is also a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
Driving times could also be affected by spray, standing water or hail, leading to longer journey times.
While flooding could lead to road closures or cancellations of bus or train services.
