John Jacobs, The Promenade, Kingsbridge, writes:

As a local council tax payer I would be interested to know why extensive road works started recently on the road between Kingsbridge and Loddiswell?

Surely common sense should prevail, August is the daftest time of the year to undertake non-essential road repairs.

In fact the week leading up to the bank holiday is one of the busiest.

To add insult to injury the road in question is not as bad as other roads in the area requiring attention.

While waiting for the convoy to arrive I imagine holiday makers must wonder in disbelief at such stupidity.

In addition local businesses and residents are made to suffer unnecessary at what is already a difficult time to drive.
