Police say they will be patrolling a road prone to flooding at high tide, after a Jaguar XK was found abandoned on the tidal road at Aveton Gifford. Kingsbridge police said: "Officers will be patrolling the tidal road waiting for the next person to drive through at high tide!!! Please check tide times before using this road!"

Chris and Gill Freeborn were in their boat coming back up the Avon estuary on Tuesday when they looked over to the tidal road and spotted something...

It turned out to be a black Jaguar XK, empty, and sitting on the road in the middle of the river.

Gill Freeborn said it made her "howl with laughter" and Chris said the Jaguar was "clearly not a happy pussy cat".

What is it with Jaguars and driving into the river? The last one we saw was a grey one!

We hope the owners managed to get their car back once the tide receded, we have had no reports of it still blocking the road, so it looks positive!
