ANNETTE ROSSER, of Crowthers Hill, Dartmouth, writes:
Sell the Guildhall? No!
I have lived and worked in Dartmouth since 1971 and I know many Dartmouth families and full time residents, many born in other parts of the world, who would also vote to keep our Guildhall.
The Mayor's Chamber contains many irreplaceable, historic, features which you were once proud to show to many distinguished visitors and, unless I am mistaken, not so long ago a new kitchen and new seating in the main hall. So, as a ratepayers, I presume I paid?
It is the only hall with a stage and dressing rooms and facilities in which to produce any 'stage' entertainment.
So it is entirely (once again) due to lack of marketing and management that some of our councillors seek this way out.
If you do sell this, all you have left to sell is the Butterwalk. Is that next?
