Calling all mobile home ­owners, boat owners and ­second home owners.

As from Monday, October 1, you will be able to park your vehicles free of charge on North and South Embankment in Dartmouth for seven whole months.

This includes the Christmas and Easter periods, plus the two half-terms holidays.

For those of you who wish to bring your cars into the town for shopping, my advice, based on experience, is don’t bother. Neither the town council nor traders seem to bother about the problem.

As I suggested in a previous letter, shortening the period of free parking would ease

the problem and allow more ­shoppers to come into town.
