A rumour caused consternation amongst shopkeepers and traders at The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, as Park and Ride, which is £15 a day, was wrongly said to be £30 a day for Saturday of Regatta, August 26th.
The rumour began on social media and spread quickly to word of mouth. A comment has been posted by Regatta Chairman, Ed Botterill to correct it, saying that Saturday’s park and ride charge remains at £15 and that SHDC permits are valid.
An announcement over the tannoy was made during the trolley races on Dartmouth’s Embankment:”There is a malicious rumour being circulated that parking tomorrow [Saturday] is £30. This is not true; it is still £15.”
