Oyez, oyez – Dartmouth town crier Lez Ellis has been ringing a bell with Stoke Fleming's young actors and actresses.

The village's Little SODS drama group is staging a musical production of The Pied Piper as their next show. Young Grace Chapman will be oyezing in the part of the noisy town crier of Hamelin.

So award-winning crier Lez dropped in on the youngsters' rehearsals to give Grace a few pointers.

Lez not only showed the youngster how to get her voice heard but also loaned her his handbell for the show.

A 37-strong cast of youngsters are taking part in the Stoke Fleming Operatic and Dramatic Society show which will be going ahead on Friday and Saturday, February 7, and 8 at Stoke Fleming village hall at 7pm each night.

The Pied Piper is the Little SODS seventh show for local director Lynne Deller who lives in Dartmouth and teaches at Torquay Girls grammar School.

It feature local youngsters aged between six and 13 years.
