SF LYNE, of Dartmouth, writes:

It is possible we will not see a resolution to our parking problems until late November when South Hams Highways and traffic committee meet at Follaton House in Totnes. In the meantime the impetus we have recently created must not be lost.

Those at county hall are capable of burying their heads in the sand in the hope that our objections will be forgotten. This is the ostrich syndrome and must not be allowed to happen.

We hope this new organisation ROPE (residents oppose parking enforcement) will be on the ball and repeatedly bring our objections to the notice of the traffic committee.

We would expect our town councillors to take up the cudgels on our behalf – but we seem to have been deafened by their silence.
