Mr Michael Kent, Orthopaedic Consultant, is now offering NHS and private consultations in Kingsbridge. He will have a monthly clinic at South Hams hospital beginning on Thursday 14th December.
The service, provided by Mount Stuart Hospital, allows GPs to refer their patients, whether insured, self-paying or NHS funded, to an orthopaedic consultant who will initially see them at South Hams Hospital. If surgery is required it will be carried out at Mount Stuart Hospital, Torquay. The major advantage of this service is that it enables patients to receive Consultant care without the need to travel.
Mr Kent’s first monthly clinic takes place on Thursday 14th December from 2-5pm.
To book your appointment, call 01803 321 602 or mention this option to the Devon Referral Support Services when being offered choice for your NHS appointment (exclusions apply).
NHS patients - did you know?
Many people don’t realise that, since 2005, patients have had the right to choose any hospital or treatment centre in England for their operation, when being referred for NHS surgery. With the NHS e-referral service in Devon (previously known as Choose and Book), your NHS referral gets passed onto the Devon Referral Support Service (DRSS). Patients then receive a letter from the DRSS giving them information about how to progress their referral.
