Colin J Moore, of Swannaton Road, Dartmouth, writes:
Last Sunday evening I watched a special edition of Question Time, broadcast due to our glorious escape from the European stitch-up.
Two of my non-favourite politicians – to wit Diane Abbot and the dumpy Braveheart Alex Salmond – starred in their usual tirade of ‘great wisdom’ – not.
As usual their attack on the democratic decision of the majority centred on racism, particularly he of the moth-eaten kilt. He clearly stated that anti-immigration was all about the colour of a person’s skin.
Apart from being a disgusting statement, he and his like should be accused of blatant racism. The immigration problem, as any intelligent semi-educated amoeba knows, is too many people cramming into a small country – no matter what colour they are.
Even with the great service by our present working people from other countries, who are trying to help keep the NHS going, there is a point at which we will be overwhelmed with too many people. Brussels can throw as many of its toys – paid for by us and other suckers – out of its gold-plated prams, but include me out. Way back I voted to join the Common Market, not the EU – talk about mission creep.
To conclude, I sincerely hope my flippant reference to kilts will not be taken as racist – rest assured my many Scottish ex-shipmates will be chuckling.
