Dartmouth's candlelit Christmas fun has been hailed another festive success as hundreds of people poured into the town for the two days of shopping, Santa and a super lantern procession.

But a new question mark hangs over the future of the popular Yuletide extravaganza as founder Steve Thomas warned that without a strong back up team to help organise it, next year's Candlelit Dartmouth may not go ahead.

Last weekend people packed into the town to watch as the Christmas lights were officially switched on by deputy mayor Rob Lyon and Santa sailed into the Boatfloat with a Royal Navy escort of naval college cadets.
