david mason, of Kingsway Park, Kingsbridge, writes: I can sympathise with the concerns expressed by Dr Richard Rawlins, Letters, Friday, July 11. I also have considerable concerns about South Hams Council and planning matters. I twice took the council to the Local Government Ombudsman, as I either received no replies or unsatisfactory replies over the granting of planning consent for floodlights surrouding a sports pitch at Kingsbridge Community College. Firstly, that the case as presented at the council meeting was not accurate, and, secondly, that the councillors had breached their own council's planning guidance, and had little understanding of what they were voting for. The ombudsman found that there were some irregularities in their note taking and record keeping.
