Peta Chivers, secretary of Dart Gig Club, writes: Dart Gig Club would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many local people, organisations and businesses in Dartmouth who gave their time voluntarily and made generous donations to help us run a very successful regatta on Saturday, March 30. The event welcomes over 200 rowers and supporters to the town and the gigs make a wonderful spectacle on the river. Year on year, the gig regatta is a success and it wouldn't happen without the effort of local Dartmouthians. Visiting clubs leave with a fantastic impression of Dartmouth and comment on the warm hospitality extended to them. In particular, we would like to thank the following: Colin and Halina Brown of Browneys for donations of tea,  coffee and vittels; Dartmouth Arms for pizzas; Sloping Deck for pasties; DYC for use of their facilities; DARC for their safety boat; DHNC for allowing use of the river, pontoon and tent; RDYC for providing the race marks; Hilary Bastone for the commentary; Gail Woodgate and Angie Raeburn for record keeping; the finish judges, Alan Pyne, John Bowden and Barry Behout; Tony Hoyle and Tony Hodge for rescue cover and umpire boats; Ribeye for a rescue boat; Justin Harmer for starting the races; and many others behind the scenes.
