FASHION conscious students have been in action on the catwalk.
Dartmouth Academy textile students designed and produced their own fashion statements which they then wore to strut their stuff at the annual fashion show held in the school drama hall.
This year's show themes were 'fame', 'fashion and fairy tale', 'festivals', 'something sweet for activities week' and 'vulnerability'.
The students, who ranged in age from 11 to 16, produced clothes which wowed the packed audience of friends and family who attended the special show. They were in competition for places at the Dartmouth Caring fashion show at the Flavel later this year.
The judges were all from Dartmouth Caring, led by chairman Dee Nutt and manager and co-ordinator Alison Stocks.
Nineteen of the 38 students were selected to go forward to the next event.
Academy textile teacher Anne Marie Rowden said: 'The outfits this year were of an exceptionally high standard with some very creative and imaginative ideas flowing.
'The students were excellent on the night and have worked very hard in preparation for the show. Some of the outfits took several months to create.
'The 38 students well and truly did themselves proud on the night and I couldn't be happier with their performance. It takes many, many hours over many months to organise the show with much appreciation going out to those who have helped make the Dartmouth Academy Fashion Show what it is.
'I love organising the Fashion show and I love the event itself even more with nerves and excitement, it is one of the proudest moments of my academic year.'
