Primary school children had a masterclass in pancake making.

Kingswear Primary School recently visited Café Alf Resco in Dartmouth for tuition in the art of pancake making.

The visit was organised by Leanne Tucker, manager at Café Alf Resco and the year five and six pupils teacher, Sarah Simnett.

The children learnt the importance of measuring their ingredients carefully to ensure their mixture was of the correct consistency.

They then tested their creations with various toppings and a delicious mug of hot chocolate.

The visit on Wednesday, September 19, helped the pupils to launch their topic ‘Bake It’-a joint curriculum project with Dartmouth Academy and Stoke Fleming Primary School.

Throughout this term, the years five and six pupils from all three schools are basing their lessons in literacy, science, geography, history and Design Technology around this theme.

At the end of term the children will come together for a Bake Off competition and joint celebration of their learning.
