A primary school has received an early Christmas present to enhance the children’s learning experiences.

Stoke Fleming Primary School has received £350 from the Stoke Fleming Charitable Ladies after a successful Christmas School Fair.

Sue Tweed, secretary of the charitable group presented a cheque to teacher, Danny Hensby at the school’s celebration assembly last Friday.

The fair was held in the village hall on November 24. Over 20 stalls offered an early opportunity for Christmas shopping, Santa’s Elves ran some story time sessions and the Dashing Devon Dukes, local ukulele group gave a performance.

On the first Wednesday of the month, except August and December, the Stoke Fleming Charitable Ladies meets at 2.30pm to organise fundraising events.

Since forming in 2016, the group has raised almost £2,500 and helped a number of causes including Children’s Hospice South West, Rowcroft Hospice, Dartmouth Caring and Stoke Fleming Primary School.

New members are always welcome. If anyone is interested contact Sue Tweed on 01803 770730 or [email protected] for more information.
