A 44-YEAR-old local man has been arrested and charged with drink-driving, with police claiming he was more than twice times over the alochol limit.
Police stopped the man on Saturday night at around 10.30pm, in Mayors Avenue, Dartmouth.
On approaching the driver's side of the car, police said they could smell alcohol coming from inside the vehicle.
A police spokesman said: 'The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and conveyed to Torquay Custody Centre, where he blew 87, over two times the drink-drive limit. The man has been charged with the offence and will appear at court in due course.'
