Manager at Citizens Advice South Hams, Janie Moor, is undertaking the South Hams Triathlon this Sunday in order to raise money and awareness for her workplace.

After training for over five months, Janie is prepared to take on the challenge of a 750 metre swim, a 20 kilometre cycle and 5 kilometre run to raise funds for Citizens Advice South Hams. Janie said: "I’ve always enjoyed sports and thought it would be a good opportunity to get involved with the triathlon and raise money and awareness at the same time".

The triathlon begins at Blackpool Sands on Sunday 11th June, where all 200 entrants swim from the western side of the beach in a circular loop before sprinting back to shore to begin the second phase of the challenge, their 20km cycle. Competitors will then cycle the coast road along Slapton Beach, before turning at Stokenham for the return journey. The final phase of the challenge is a run towards Stoke Fleming before crossing onto the South West Coast Path and then returning to Blackpool Sands for the finish line.

Janie said: "Last year we helped more than 4,000 local people, and in Devon as a whole 30,000 people", she added: "Not many people realise that we are a charity that depends on funding and trained volunteers". Janie said she hopes to raise £1,000 in sponsorship and has already raised over £500.

Janie has a Just Giving sponsorship page which can be found at: https://www.everyclick.com/southhamstriathlon
