FISHERMAN Carl Griffiths says he may be prepared to go to prison in his battle against the Dartmouth Business Improvement District.
Mr Griffiths is among the last of the town’s businesses who face court action for non-payment of levies to the BID.
He said: ‘I’m as local as anyone and am fighting on. I would still like to know what people think about the BID one year on.’
He added he was considering setting up a telephone rerun of the BID vote to coincide with his court appearance on Friday, December 11.
Cases are due to be heard at Plymouth Crown Court but Mr Griffiths has requested that his hearing goes ahead in Torquay.
Sonia Powell, South Hams Council’s support services, said: ‘There are accounts outstanding from year one, all of which were held back from previous court sessions due to being under query or discussion.
‘The next court date is December 11 and all outstanding accounts for year one and most for year two will be summonsed unless a payment arrangement has been set up and it is up to date.’
