Police were called after members of the public grew concerned for the safety of a woman seen running into traffic.

Police were called to the Coronation Road area of Totnes at around 2pm today after members of the public called them, worried for the safety of a woman who was seen running into traffic and hitting and punching cars.

She also appeared to have stolen a cat, although it is not clear where from, and was holding it while running in and out of traffic.Police tracked her down with help from the public and are now looking after her. It is currently unclear where the cat is, although all are hopeful that it has been returned to its owner.
